On 16 October 2019, Lyndal Roper hosted our first CGIS Research Brief Encounters event of 2019-20. It was great to hear about so many fascinating research projects relating to gender, identity, and subjectivity, and to welcome many new researchers to Oxford.
Around 30 researchers participated, including third-year undergraduates, new Masters and DPhil students, and established researchers at Oxford. Our research interests stretched from the 12th century marriage market to women and the contemporary media; from Irish refugees in the 1640s to the migration of British-Pakistani women in the later 20th century; and from the 17th century English country house to 1920s Berlin.
Look out for details of another Research Brief Encounter later in the year!
